2000년대 시장 꽃가게에서 찍힌 것 같은 15초입니다. 남학생 셋이 꽃을 사러 왔는데 목적은 꽃이 아닙니다. 사람도 카메라도 없이 프롬프트 하나로 만들었습니다.

2000년대 시장 꽃가게에서 남학생이 꽃 세 대를 삽니다. 셋이 몰려와서 하나만 말을 겁니다. 15초를 한 번에 뽑았습니다. 컷은 일곱 개인데 이어붙인 것이 아니라 처음부터 일곱 개로 나눠 프롬프트에 적어 넣었습니다. 이 작품의 엔진은 지시어입니다. 학생이 통 하나를 가리키며 이거 얼마냐고 물으면 그 이거가 화면에 있어야 하고, 누나가 "이건 누나 마음"이라며 덤을 꽂아주면 그 한 송이는 다발과 색이 달라야 합니다. 그래서 학생은 노란 꽃 통을 손가락으로 가리키고, 누나는 같은 통에서 세 대를 뽑고, 덤은 다른 통의 분홍 한 송이입니다. 말과 화면이 어긋나는 순간 15초는 거짓말이 됩니다. 잠근 건 캐릭터 시트 한 장뿐입니다. 얼굴과 머리와 착장을 한 장에 넣고 나머지는 전부 글로 세웠습니다. 가게 고양이도 이미지 없이 글로만 썼어요. 흰 단색 장모라 형태가 조금 흔들려도 눈에 덜 걸린다고 판단했고, 마지막에 고양이가 렌즈로 얼굴을 들이밀어 화면을 막는 자리는 어차피 초점이 무너지는 구간이라 오히려 안전했습니다. 시트를 쓸 때는 그림과 글이 싸우지 않게 했습니다. 얼굴 사진을 첨부하면 글에서는 머리 색과 얼굴 묘사를 지웁니다. 그림과 글이 다른 말을 하면 모델은 글을 따르고 얼굴을 버리기 때문입니다. 화면 질감도 같은 원칙입니다. 캠코더 느낌은 흔들림과 삐뚠 구도로만 만들고, 초점을 놓친다거나 테이프 노이즈 같은 광학 지시는 쓰지 않았습니다. 그런 지시는 렌즈 효과로 그려져 화면 가장자리를 뭉개기 때문입니다. 대신 35밀리의 자연스러운 원근과 모서리까지 고른 선명함을 한 줄로 박았습니다.
